I wrote a novel, well, technically it is a novella. I would not be opposed to publishing it. I have emailed publishing houses, though I think they are sort of useless unless you are trying to publish something for kids, nerds or women. This was excruciating for me because you have to talk yourself up as well as your proposed manuscript and I’m not much of a self-promoter because, well, I hate myself. Of course, none of them were interested, which is fine because I don’t think I’m some literary genius. I was expecting no thank yous and that’s precisely what I got.
I looked into self-publishing which seems like it would make far more sense in this technological age. I started reading about this and it might as well have been written in a different language. It was just mind-numbing and one big yawn.
I just wrote a book that requires some creativity and now I have to become a techno-wiz, marketing guru and business minded.
I have to do everything but if I could be savvy in technology, marketing and business then I would not be delving into creating some sort of imaginative literary fiction. I would be running a business. (Yes, I know that I have an M.B.A. but that’s a long story that need not be probed at this moment in time.)
I thought about publishing it on my site but it would be too lengthy.
I think I’m going to start on my next book though I’m sure that it will never see the light of day either.
